Fabula Nova Crystallis, which is defined in Latin as “the new tale of the crystal”, is made up of a series of different titles in the Final Fantasy 13 universe. Each of these titles in Fabula Nova Crystallis will feature different characters, different worlds and different stories. All of which are ultimately based on and expand upon a common mythos.
The Final Fantasy 13 series’ concept is based on Crystals that lead the world towards the future.
The multiple number of titles in Fabula Nova Crystallis will span a number of different platforms, which include the PlayStation 3 and the mobile phone.

The titles in Fabula Nova Crystallis that have been announced so far are:
Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy Versus 13 and Final Fantasy Agito 13.
A further three titles have been announced for the series, although no information has been revealed on them at this time. However, one title is rumoured to be named Final Fantasy Haeresis 13, this name was registered by Square Enix with USPTO at the start of May 2006.
I cannot say much about this but so far it seems to be going in a direction that i feel may be an extraordinary Final Fantasy title.
Ok, I’m a bit confused. 13 is actually more than one game? Do they mean like multiple discs with different storylines or completely separate games to be bought on their own?
they actually mean completely different games to be bought seperately. final fantasy versus 13 and final fantasy 13 are 2 different games for ps3, while final fantasy agito 13 i believe is going to be a mobile game. these three games make up the story of “fabula nova crystallis.”

Yea, as stated in the article, there’s speculation that there will be a total of 6 games under the ffxiii logo. If u think about it, if each game costs $60, (excluding the mobile phone version, which will be paid probably under a monthly subscription,) u r looking to pay over $300. That’s mad dough for a videogame, but to some, its worth it. There’s probably going to be ports for the psp and d.s., so it shouldn`t cost that much, but still, its a possibility. I need to start working more, lol.

well in that case, i’ll really hafta start saving up because if they all come out around the same time, i’m most likely going to buy them all at the same time. and that will be a bad idea.
I am a great fan of the series but would like for the developers not to be so stingy with the info. Great fan whom does not know will the titles be released exclusively for the PS 3,
Or will it be realest on some other console or perhaps the PC.
If exclusive for the PS 3 then that’s the only reason for me to buy this type of console.

then you should save your money for a ps3, because FFXIII and FFvXII will both be ps3 exlusives. i don’t think the 360 would be able to handle the smoothness of battle and the graphics that the white engine produces, but the ps3 definitely can.

they’re basically two different games. the only real similarity we know so far is that their stories pertain to the Crystals.
I really love this series! But I’m just worried about where its going. It seems to be drifting away from Final Fantasy and moving into a whole different series. Not to be prejudiced or anything, but the final fantasy 7 compilation was just annoying. And final fantasy staples like nobuo uematsu, hironobu sakaguchi, etc. have almost nothing to do with final fantasy now. This one looks really good (a bit toooo futuristic). I just hope it is good.

well, technology wise yes they are drifting away a bit. but, plot wise i wouldn’t say there drifting away, i’d say they’re trying something different, you know? so, in a way, i agree with both of you. once again, sorry if i’m intruding.

now back to the topic, i don’t think they’re necessarily drifting away with the technology. instead i think they’re just advancing it. almost every game has had some sort of new technology that was an integral part of the story. i kinda forget which games had what stuff…but yeah i’m pretty sure they do…

i really can’t believe that square would put a series with such a huge fan base in japan on a system that has like a fan base of 3 in japan. i mean they might be trying to get more people to play the 360…but what’s in it for them? i wonder…

that’d be kinda cool, but it would hafta be programmed differently, because whatever engine they use for ps3 would probably be too much for the 360. and that’d just take too much time. either that or they settle for 360 graphics on both systems. i’m ok with it, but a lot of people won’t be.

Sup. New here but I just wanted to bring up how glad I am that the main protagonists name is Lightning. Its kinda goes back to the trend of protagonists named after weather terms. I.E Cloud, Squall, Tidus. Well at least I think so. Besides Vaan and Zidane which I have no idea on where their names were originated from.

hey everyone, this is my first comment so forgive me if i somehow make any mistakes or wrong statements in this post, or in future posts. Ok, so first of all, you guys are doing an amazing job i wouldnt be this excited for these games if it werent for you guys so thanks. Although everyone wants the next ff installment to be better than ff7, there is more hype for this one than ff10 and ff12 had in my opinion. Also, it took a while for the ff7 compilation to be announced and ff13 hasnt been released and theres already a pretty big compilation. So do you guys think it will be the next ff7, and i know we wont know until it comes out but what are your opinions.

how’s it goin Aahan? very good first post, you should be proud. i’m pretty sure i was an ass in my first post, so way to not be. this game is definitely getting a lot more attention than 12 and 10. probably even more than 7. as far as it being the next 7, i think it’s safe to expect a game that surpasses 7 in everything good.

this is the only site i go to for ffxiii news, because it’s usually the first one to get new info, and it’s more fun.
im a bit pissed off because ive played nearly every ff game and they have all gone downhill since no 9,big time.ff7 worked so well because it was one game on three discs, not three plus games on one disc. i dont fucking want to play ff on my phone, thats defeating the purpose of the whole exp, ff7 didnt look great but the story sucked you in.
Well, i have started to play FF at number 8…I don’t feel disappointed over the changes that took place over the time.
Talking about this FF XIII, i really look forward for the new battle system. FF XII were great, but at times i missed that lightning-speed battles…But then again, that wasn’t part of FF, but now i guess it is. Am definitely buying a PS3 to play this.
as a fellow final fantasy fan, i don’t quite understand the bitterness that people have toward the more recent additions to the series, namely x and xii. i understand that people have their opinions, and there will never be a game that everyone likes. but i don’t get how reinventing the final fantasy formula means making a bad game. it just kinda seems like they’re are too many people who deem x and xii disappointments, instead of appreciating the areas that each game succeeded in.
all of the ff games were good including X. 12 could have been rethought to me but other than that every things all good. and who in their right mind would say that x was a bad game?in my opinion ff4 through 10 were the best. do get me mistaken all of them are good those are just my favorites.

I liked a little about the realtime battle, but dislike the boss fight, WTF street fighter ?!
Quickening could never existed, I liked most of the Overcharge from FFX.

Never the Less KingRoger FF12 had sum very positive aspects to it. I mean Look at the graphics for it. It surpased most(if not all) games of its genaration and could rival some 360 games(the cheesey ones), the only thing that it realy lacked was LIFE IN THE CHARACTERS, they never had a special conection with each other. Gambits were great because it gave you the option of not worrying about dying, Espers were…well trophies =P, they went in the right direction but they were just useless….as Electricb7 said all of them were good and each of them brought sumthin fresh and inovative, and just by lookin at the vids/pics/info that this website gives I/WE already know FF13 is GONNA BE SWEET :D and its gonna bring sumthin new and fresh. =]. OH and one more thing your bashing on FF12’s Quickenings but i bet every boss battle you got you prayed to the hevean’s that you had a spare ether to use them though.
the only thing with the quickenings was that they were misleading, at the start of the game when you 1st battle, bashc used it in the midst of battle but when you do it fo realthey teleported to a next dimention, to at least resemble the other FF’s they could/should have made it in the midst of battle like the others.. log story short FF12 was a good game wasnt the best but it was good

Ive been playing ff since I was what…like….8yrs + when Final Fantasy III first came out?
I LOVED it. like…it started my rpg addiction…its horrible
And all I can say is that yaaa…a lot has changed…Ive played every ff now just to play it, of course with my favorite story and battle system and pretty much everything being 3 and 7.
And honestly I cant complain about 8, the graphics were definitely a huge leap from 7, and the GFs were pretty sweet. All around it was a good game, nothing that made it stand out though.
I didnt like 9, I still play it just to run through the story from time to time…but I thought it was kind of gay. Still not to bad to play through just for fun once in a while.
A LOT of ppl started playing final fantasy with 10…and thats where the addiction began for them, which honestly wasnt a bad start at all. It was good story, no background to catch up on, not that any of them have had a background besides any new titles coming from 7’s story line, which I have to say Crisis Core was so fun, and so was Dirge of Cerebus.
But 10 was good, different, a little hard. But Overall its one of the other most talked about ff’s in my opinion.
10-2 was gay, not even gonna talk about it, i played for 5 mins and shut it off.
11 online? Well Im not sure if any of you got into it but it was a way good idea, really pretty fun, not so much smooth, but if they were gonna do another mmorpg ff, they definitely should be able to do so much better just from whats happened with 11.
12? It was good…not great…not amazing, but fun. I agree with everyone on what theyve said for the most part, espers were cool to see again, although using them was pretty pointless for the most part, trophies lol. The did pretty good with the revamped battle system, magic was pretty good, a lot of things which made it better was the gambits…gambits=lazy but fun. Quickenings owned, no way around that part.
The only thing I can complain about IS that….when I beat it…I couldnt believe it was over so fast…like I guess I was expecting more? Even getting the extras with the hunts and everything didnt take THAT much time, and the hunts were pretty fun/challenging. But seriously…it just kind of ended…
Idk.. This is just my opinion for most that started from 7 and up on the games.
I love em, they will by far always be my favorite
and I cant complain about where theyve taken it at all because seriously, how can we expect them to be the same time and time again? Its changed and so has the battle systems and how you can react with anything or everything, and I think its not so much good and bad as it is preferences or expectations we hold against it.
So with that said…
13 looks freaking amazing!!! hahaha

I hope the story lines for the ff13s rape so much ass that all ps3 owners won’t be able to walk straight. Other than 13, only one thing in my mind has a chance to beat ff7, that would be a rated “M” and not dumbed down remake of FF7 for ps3.
back on topic, it sounds as though they can make all 3(6) of these games, with different storylines and maybe make another game or a movie that combinds them all in the end. They have done a great job with maintaining a series with ff7 and most noted as a series Kingdom Hearts that I along with others should believe that they will do SquareTacular and Enixulent.
I’ll take Storyline over graphics (mostly) any day.

I beat ffX-2, I guess I didn’t get the “good ending” what the hell happened to Titus, I MEAN “HIM”! It kinda did suck but I beat it without buying it, just like 7-12. Except I bought and beat all the tactics games. So yes if you throw tactics in their, that is another cool FF game with a different style. again my opinion.

In my opinion both 13 and versus 13 must have the folowing atributes in the folowing order so that I can be proud at square-enix: Storyline (The most important part of any FF game, no good story, no good game), Graphics (well I don’t think we need to be concerned about this :)), Gameplay (Crucial to make people play it even when they already finished the story), Summons (If there are no Summons it can’t really be called and FF game rigth?), extras and mini-games (who doesn’t like to play tetra-master, raise a chocobo, play blitzball, etc once in a while to relax from all the battles and have a fun FF related experience?), Coolness of the main character (another semi-important point, the main character has to look cool, or I won’t stand looking at him the whole game, vann?? wtf. anyways that doesn’t seem to be a problem with versus or 13, “Storm” is cooler than Lightning anyways :))

I hope that Enix is reading what we type because we all have some killer points an opinions that they could use. if we were in charge of putting together a ff game that shit would be hot. i have noticed that the gamers of all people have better view points than the producers and the publishers of the games. don’t you think thats ironic.

Hi everyone, pleased to meet you all… First time reader/poster (and probably not the last). hehe, there sure are some characters here :P
it’s funny reading posts with people arguing over which game is better, IMO it all comes down to personal preference. Personally, i believe FF8, 9, 10, 10-2 and even 12 were kinda lame… good fun, but lame (8 and 9 were probably the worst, they had good graphics, better then FF7, yet i felt uninspired and wasn’t drawn into the world so i took them back and got refunds). 10-2 was a cheap/rushed addition to the FF series and i think Square should apologise… :P
Honestly, FF7 is the pinnacle of all the FF games i’ve played (i haven’t played 1-6 so i can’t comment on those, however i was massive fan of Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore, both of which were released around the time of FF3(i think)).
None of the games to date have had the story and character development which 7 had, and every time i’ve purchased the new release i’ve expected a world, not just a game, for which to play… 12 was definitely an improvement over the 4 previous versions, but it still lacked substance, i felt i was just following a character with a limited history (he’s an orphan and only has one friend, that blond chick, forgot her name), throughout the game other characters jumped on board the gravy train and just “tagged” along…
Over the years i’ve felt the story, the substance, that little bit of life that was in games of old, that little bit of gold that truly made a game great, has slowly been leached out and replaced by “bang bang, kapow kapow”… not saying i don’t like that, but if i wanted that i’d go and buy a 360 and get halo3! The FF series was meant to be inspiring and uplifting yet at the same time sad and depressing with an immersive storyline (FF7 for example)…
Long story short, so far all the games have been predictable and short lived and i believe SE is gonna have a hard time trying to match up to FF7 standards. There are no plot twists (or at least nothing that shocks/rocks you), barely any character development and a rough story to follow.
I realise i’m sounding kind of biased towards FF7 (3 Cheers! Rah Rah Rah!), but i know alot of people will agree… good graphics attract customers, a good story draws you in and characters which seem to have a life of their own (Love, Hate, Sorrow) keep you coming back for more… (Like when Aeris died… i cried a single tear, would have been 2 tears but my little brother was in the room and so i had to suck it up :P, but i was pissed off when it happened, because i felt a sort of connection to her character, or i guess the connection she and Cloud had. The game sucked me in and i felt like i was a part of the world, not just a spectator).
FF7 was a Gem, whereas the additions over the years have been turds, shiny polished turds.

10 was kinda good in a “Wonder Years” kinda way but i still felt like a spectator and not a participant. I don’t mind a Narrative Genre (The Wonder Years, Stand By Me, A River Runs Through it etc etc) but they make you a spectator, and not a participant… Kudos to SE for giving it a go…
I didn’t feel sad when i had to kill Tidus’ dad, he seemed like a bit of a prick to me :(
to be honest, i want to see a FF game where it’s all Doom & Gloom and there’s no hope for anybody, at least that gives you something to fight for…
What’s the deal with FF7 for PS3? I’ve read quite a few posts/messages stating that it will be re-released for the PS3 with a new battle system (it will still have the old system and you can choose which type to use in the game)… If it is going to come out again (Fuck Yeah!) i wonder if they will stick with written dialogue? IMO they should use the same voice actors from AdventChildren (Tim Burton, Mena Suvari etc etc) as i reckon they did a top job and exceeded my expectations as to how the characters should sound…
Can anyone enlighten me on this? or make me sad by saying it’s not going to happen :(

Well, FF7 remake Would be something nice to have on the ps3, but I’m not seeing it coming, but plz, SE if you’re reading this, NO MORE FF7 SPIN-OFFs!!! Crisis Core was completely Awsome, but focus on Fabula Nova Crystallis! No more Spin-off’s! The only good reason for not focusing on the Fabula is to remake ff7, other than that, Get to work!
This sounds absoloutely extraordinary. Something of this level and depth has never been done before. It’s practically its own world. By the end of this entire series, the amount of information that will encompass this world will seem like actual history. Imagine being the writers that make this stuff up. This is going to blow the other Final Fantasy titles out of the water. It’s going to be huge! Not to mention the graphics are unbelievable.
i’ve been reading these posts lately, sorry to but in on the circle. but i thought i would let you know amazon has pushed back its release date to January 31st. it seemed like they were told to put it to that date by the publisher. i figured i would share the info if no one else here got it.
first of all never listen to amazon. secondly the writers for the games never think things out the way that you are thinking. for example i can almost completely bet $959
4386465184956856 dallors that Enix er Square Soft thought that there would be such an impact in the gaming world about ff7. when ff7 was made for the ps1, that was it. they didn’t even think about crisis core, before crisis, not even advent children. its sort of like make things up as you go sort of thing. the reason i can tell you ask, well just look at the newer ff7 spin offs (that i like) plot and stuff. they don’t even come close to ff7 story or anything. also the didn’t have the same directer and stuff so you know for a fact that they didn’t plan this stuff out. i don’t like to burst peoples bubbles (yes i do) but Square er Enix make things up as they go. after they complete one game maybe they would have thought of an sequel to the game er something, but theres no way that they planed a #3 or #4 to a game. i don’t really think any of the gaming company’s think of many games through, just look at the story behind all the devil may crys, metal gear solids, jak and daxter. all that stuff………….GTA4 fucking rocks. llololollol.

as i though no one has ever heard of it. its some king of internet thing on EVERY SINGLE playstation 3 that needs to be changed immediately because it blocks out most peoplethat want to play with you in multilayer. it slows down the connection really really bad. its the reason why your headset isnt working write and your controller disconnecting and almost everything. you need to change it to nat type 1 or 2. go to system settings and perform connection test and it will tell you that you have nat type 3. (the fucking worst thing since HIV). almost everyone on x box live has nat type 3 and Microsoft and Sony said themselves thats why people are lagging in games and cant connect with their friends and also serious LAG issues. have you ever played gears of war and felt the extreme bitch-ness coming from the host lancer. well apparently you can change it. wounder why people aren’t making a big deal out of this. i never make a big deal out of anything and i find this to be the most retarded thing since Halo fans. llololollol.

it may be because you have a good connection so you might not have problems. but i can guarantee there are problems even though you have a good connection and you might not even notice it. i thought my connection was good but i was terribly wrong.
As long as they don’t annoy me, don’t make me pay extra cash than what I pay, and that the router doesn’t blow up, the problems are fine with me :)

BurningPhoenix: Awesome name, very clever. I’ve only seen the first episode, but it was pretty awesome.
So long as we’re talking about favorite FF Games, I’ll throw in my two cents. I started playing back when the fantasy was supposed to be final (I started with FF1.) Sadly I haven’t actually played all of the final fantasies yet. I’ve tried FF2 like 5 times but it doesn’t seem to hold my attention for twenty minutes. I know it’s almost heresy, but I’ve never played 3, 5, or 6. I have also never played 11, but I’ve seen it, and it looks pretty fun, a solid mmorpg with the added bonus of being an FF game. My favorite FF is 7 (no surprise there), and coming very close in second is 8. After those is 10, then a tie between 4 and 1, and finally a tie between 9 and 12. I don’t consider any of the final fantasies to be bad games at all, just some are better than others. It seems to me that when the name Final Fantasy is applied to the game, it’s like a promise to the player that the game will be amazing. I can totally relate to some other people who posted before me about how the Aeris Death scene moved them emotionally. I still have set aside saves on my memory card for the Aeris Death scene, the Squall and Rinoa Ragnarok scene, and the Tidus and Yuna swimming scene. My girlfriend told me to grow a pair…
But yea, I’m totally pumped up for FF13, and I can’t wait to see what they’ve done with it. I’m a little worried that this one won’t be able to sway my emotions like the others I mentioned did because this one is about a girl, so I can’t relate to any of the emotions she’ll likely feel, but in any event it’ll be nice to be staring at her smoking hot ass for 70 hours of game play for a change. My question is what is meant by Final Fantasy ‘Versus’ 13? Agito, and Haerisis are both Latin words, along with Fabula Nova Crystallis. I wonder if Versus 13 is different because it is a specifically multiplayer game? That would be pretty awesome.
I’ve also heard that Square-Enix is going to scrap Agito because of a decline in profits this year? I’ll need to find the source I saw that in, but if anyone knows about that could you confirm it?
And finally, I apologize for this excessive post, I know that it’s probably annoying to have to read through a ton of text like this. I won’t be posting this much at a time again, as I have now established my FF background and shared my opinions with you all. I’m definitely bookmarking this page, it’s the best source for FF13 news I’ve seen anywhere!

Try metal gear solid 4! it’s awesome!
I only played a few minutes of Heavenly Sword, but from what I played it was pretty awesome. I’d recommend giving that a try if you’re looking for some simple minded fun to amuse you while you wait for FFXIII.

Right now I’m playing MGS4 (awesome as hell). I would recommend Resistance, Folklore (really fun and beyond pretty)Uncharted, GTA4, Ratchet and Clank FTD, Battlefield Bad Company, and a lot of ps2 games that rock, like Persona 3, Oidens Sphere, Kingdom hearts, Shadow of the Callouses, Iko, and other stuff. llol

Have many details on the plot of FFXIII been released?
Hopefully this is a good installment of the series. People who have assaulted X have no idea what they are saying. That game had such an in-depth post apocalyptic world with religious influence whilst maintaining the fantasy element. The storyline flowed perfectly, Tidus was a great main character and the final twists were all superb. Auron being unsent, while predictable, was great. The whole Tidus twist was somewhat confusing but nonetheless great and the sin/yevon union was also a nice ironic twist. The guardian/final aeon was also great. Innovative on many levels with limitless sidequests this is one of the greatest games in history without doubt.
FFIX is the most overrated game in the series by a country mile. Generic to a fault, it just doesn’t compare to VII and VIII. Only FF game to date I haven’t completed and enjoyed.
FFVIII has its flaws, and the underlying story isn’t perfect, but the whole past/present/future split is great, especially when you consider Rinoa = Ultimecia. The draw system isn’t too appealing, but it isn’t too scarring. Some of the characters are relative fillers, but that is a fault atributed to most games in the series.
FF VII was a timeless classic. Graphically deficient in these times, its story and gameplay are pretty much unparalleled. I still prefer X to it though.
FF XII is very debatable. Terrible characters, passable storyline but great gameplay. Penelo and Fran were almost complete filler characters and Vaan wasn’t far off. Basch was also quite generic altough Balthier was a breath of fresh air. Ashe was ok, still not perfect though.
FF VI is widely considered the best by purists and understandably so. IV is also in this mould, although I believe it is widely over-regarded.
XIII needs to improve on the faults of XII if it wants to be a truly amazing game; a more involving storyline, stronger characters and a more themed world. The transition from I to XII was quite amazing. In I you had the adventure dungeons. By VI this was less profound but you didn’t have a forest, you had a phantom forest with a train to the afterlife. By X you had Thunder Plains. By XII you had *insert place name here* plains.
Final Fantasy 13 Versus or Haerseis, one of them will be released on 360 that’s a guarantee pretty much.
Crystal Tools was created as multiplatform after all….

I felt the same way in the beginning, because of the super high price of the PS3, but now it’s actually nearly the same price as the 360, except you’re getting much more technology out of it.
The price-tag of $400 (soon to be $300, btw) is a pretty good price just for the Blu-Ray player, let alone all the extra PlayStation technology that comes with it. While I totally hate this for happening, we have to face the fact that Blu-Ray is taking the market, and the future of HD DVD’s is in Blu-Ray. As far as players go, the PS3 has one of the best available, and for a damn good price.
In addition to this, the PS3 actually has a bunch of good games available now like: MGS4, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, GTA4, Resident Evil 5, SOCOM: US Navy SEALs, Soul Calibur 4, Far Cry 2, Devil May Cry 4, Star Wars: Force Unleashed, and Heavenly Sword (she’s so hot). And though a lot of these are cross-platform (and available on the 360) they tend to run/look better on the PS3 because of it’s superior technology.
I personally don’t own a PS3 or a 360, and until now I’ve always leaned towards the 360, but with the recent price cuts, the PS3 is slowly changing my mind. I’m not telling you to buy a PS3, especially not if you’ve already bought a 360, but just be careful throwing your opinion around. Lost Odyssey may be good (I’ll have to try it out), but claiming that it’s better than Final Fantasy in this thread on this website is like trying to light a fire under water.

i don’t really know what to say about it being on 360 as well…i don’t know whether to be kinda pissed or really happy. i’m pretty sure i’m both. on one hand, i’m gonna be able to play the game without spending $400, and it will be a lot easier to experience whatever online features the game may have, AND it will include achievements. on the other hand…the graphics will be a tiny bit less beautiful than the ps3. huh…guess i’m pretty psyched about it.

look i have senn the graphics on a ps3 they are great,i cant lie. but if you have an elite xbox( the black one) you have hdmi which the same as blu ray. u really think blu ray is on its own with awesome picture HDMI is right there only they havent been brodcasting blu ray or hdmi yet onto tvs. So ENOUGH it will all be the same if you have HDMI on ur 360. Crazy FFX Fan, I’m sorry if my comments offended you, but there’s no two ways about it. When you say I don’t know what I’m talking about, I take offense. First of all, I’m a Computer Science Major. I work as a third tier IT consultant. Programming and working with computers is what I do, and as such, I know a thing or two about graphics.
First of all, nothing is ever ‘broadcasted’ in Blu-ray. Blu-ray is a disc format. One of the reasons the PS3 has a significant advantage over the 360 is because it has a Blu-ray player, which is owned by Sony, so no systems will ever have Blu-ray on them except those produced by Sony. Blu-ray has already taken the market as the disc format of the future (even NewLine Cinemas has announced that it will no longer support HD Dvd’s, and instead start producing in Blu-ray.) Basically, you can’t watch HD videos on your 360 unless you first download it and save it to the 360’s HDD. If you want to compare apples to apples for PS3 capabilities versus 360 capabilities, PS3 wins hands down. Blu-ray can hold up to 50 gigs of data, which is six times the amount the 360 can store on a DVD, and is the difference between HD videos, and regular videos. Oh, and by the way, the Blu-ray drive can play DVDs as well.
Second, HDMI makes no difference whatsoever. HDMI means High Definition Multimedia Interface. In other words, it’s a cable that can stream HD content from a source to a receiver (such as an HD-TV.) That said, you should know that BOTH SYSTEMS USE HDMI. In addition to this, for PS3 you don’t need to buy some elite version to get HDMI, it comes with every model.
and Third, none of this has anything to do with the actual graphic performance of the systems, only their ability to produce those graphics in high resolution. The fact is that the PS3 has much better hardware, using an RSX Reality Synthesizer Graphics engine based on NVidia’s G70 architecture, as well as a multicore cell 3.2 GHz processor produced jointly by Sony IBM and Toshiba, 256 MB of GDDR3 vRAM, and 256 MB of XDR Main memory. It’s this sick package that gives the PS3 the edge when it comes to both speed and graphics.
The point is, for only $50 more than you spent on your elite, you could have bought the 80GB PS3 (best one)/Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle. The only things the Elite 360 has on it is a headset, and another 40 GB. Bear-in-mind, you could always spend less, and still get the full HDMI and Blu-ray support for the PS3. Oh yea, and the PS3 comes in black no matter which one you get. ;-P

Yea, like I said, I’ve never touched a PS3 before, so I wouldn’t have any idea how to configure one. I could tell you what NAT is, and what the differences are between the different types, but I can’t be too helpful in actually setting up the PS3 itself. Good luck to you, though!

I was reading IGN’s DK(Sigma)3713 Impressions, and it turns out that they’re pretty solidly sure that Versus 13 will be a PS3 exclusive.
Possibly more exciting is that Agito will be sold on the PSP, along with Dissidia, and one of three new Kingdom Hearts games!
Even more exciting (for me, who has yet to purchase a next-gen console) is that FF7: AC Complete will be sold as a PS3 bundle (as well as stand-alone), and will feature a playable demo for FFXIII, and trailers for VersusXIII and AgitoXIII! (I wonder what the bundle price-tag will be?)
I also found out that Microsoft is rumored to be dropping the price of their low-end model 360 to $200 (it won’t have a HDD), the 60 GB version (replacing their current low-end model) will be $300, and the Elite will be dropped to $400. This will once again put them at a significantly lower price than the PS3’s, and will bring them down to the same playing-field as the Wii (which is still $250, and has no signs of changing that.) This is good news for anyone who wants to play FFXIII, but doesn’t care about Blu-Ray! I think I’ll probably still go for the PS3, though, as it has been predicted that Blu-Ray will own over 50% of the video media market by 2011.

you mean between Agito, and KH for the PSP? Honestly, I actually think KH might be better, even though I prefer Final Fantasy, because KH was designed for the PSP from the beginning, whereas Agito was moved to it from mobile phones. KH will probably make use of all the power behind the PSP, where Agito will most likely be much more basic.
That’s just my thoughts though, I’ll still probably get Agito before KH. And I still haven’t even beaten the first KH yet anyways… Yea, I’m way behind. :-P

Yea, I started playing KH last year, and I got to the end, but I never killed the final boss (Malificent, right?). I think I was borrowing it from a fiend, and I ran out of time, so I never got to finish. I’ll have to get it for the PS3 when I buy one and then finish her off. ^_^

kh3 isn’t announced yet though. i mean, i think it’s pretty safe to say that it will be in the future, but as of right now, there aren’t any plans for it.
i know, i just said i cant wait til they actually make it cuz they are making so many kh’s for other systems right now but none for the ps3

Here’s my thought on the current state of the console sitiuation-ado if u will.
Microsoft built a one hit wonder…Nintendo build something different, and Sony built something that will last… when i say ‘last’ i dnt mean its physically durable, although it is, what i mean is, they built it for the long run…and the reason there aren’t as many games on it isn’t because it ’sucks’, sony was making the systems for about $800 and selling them for about $600…they were losing money on each one sold. U could call it poor business planning…i call it faith and experience. The loss meant that they couldn’t not spend that much money on other things like advertising and paying developers. Additionally, a lot of studios and devs were saying that the PS3 is hard to code for….its been 30 minutes and i forgot where i was goin with this sooo…

yeah sony probalby falls back on sales sometimes because there the last to get stuff out meaning to the price will go down later that’s why the xbox360 gets better sales becuase it’s all about who can get it out first

so i hear the release date is December 2009 D: thats way to long the only reason i bought a ps3 is cause i wanted versus and now i have to wait over a year :/ it makes me sad lol

just heard from x-play game show that final fantasy 13 probalby won’t be coming out tell the next oylimpics but they will have a large demo release with blu-ray
bah i really hope the battles style is like it is in crisis core it made it alot of fun it was horrible how short that game was i beat it in like 16 hours :(
and next Olympics is 2010 so hurrah XD
There will be a large demo of the game included on the Advent Children Complete blu-ray disc, along with never before seen trailers for Versus, and Agito.
